What was it's condition when you parked it. soulds like it may be stuck. Put a socket on the front pully and try to turn the engine. Does the clutch disengage when you press the pettle.

Add some Marvel Mystery Fluid through your plug openings before you turn it, it will help free up and clean the chambers and apel seal springs

Have you tried roll starting it? That might help determine what kind of problem it is.

umm, if it IS stuck (carbon locked), won't roll starting it destroy just about everything good inside? I'd stick with the socket-e/s pulley, and if that dont fly, MMO till it does.

12a79:
if the starter goes "click" the battery is bad or the engine is siezed
if the starter goes click whizzzzzzzzz the fly or starter teeth are fubar
if the starter goes click grrrrrrindd the teeth are almost fubar
if you get no noise at all the starter is not functioning... check connections and battery and starting circuit.
