MX6 V6 93+ vs RX7 83 GS.. who wins?

I would like to know who would win this race..

stock Mx-6 5 speed, V6 93+ vs rx7 83 5 speed, GS with dellorto carb, street port exhaust system (racing beat) & air intake RB.

On a 0-100mph for example..

Go for it!! the only way to really know is to race.

Haveng said that, my friend had a Ford Probe that only had and intake and exhaust, and some 600lbs weight reduction. That thing was pretty fast low to mid 14s.

Stock to your GS It probably would be fairly close, definatly close enough that skill is a playing factor.

Ohh man I think it would be a dead heat, deffinetly come down to skill. The Ford Probe and the MX6 are very closely matched. I have raced one Probe and it was absolutly a dead heat till about 70MPh were his v6 started pulling away. My car is stock, accept for RB sp exhaust and suspension.
Good luck!

A 1996 MX-6 V6 is 0 to 60 in 7.2. Automatic version is about 8.2 if I remember. I just bought a 1994 Mazda 626 with a V6. It's an auto, but the stick version is 0 to 60 in 7.8. So next time you see an ES pull up next to you, don't think it's a 4 door push over.

Then again, the driver makes a huge difference as well.

MX-6 and Probe are brother cars... same chassis, same engine, different body styles. So they are naturally very closely matched. Stock they go high 15s low 16s. 150-somthing hp, so they aren't too far from a lightly modded 7

i have had a 93 mx6 v6. let me tell you this is one of the most underated imports ever. it runs about a 15.2 stock, and there arent too many mods out there for it. but it was also one of the best handeling fwd cars i have ever driven. it feels extremely fast and pulls hard after 60. i would give 0-60 a dead heat, 0-100 to the mx. give the mx a drive, its an amazing car.

My brother has a 93 mx6 v6 w/ intake and exhaust. Read the sig for my car. He ran both cars on a g-tech. his car ran a 7.6 and my car ran a 7.8 (0-60). his cars clutch was goin out and my motor has a bunch of hard miles on it. But thats the best example i can give. His car is really quick, it really suprised me. LAter

I need to hang out here more... I miss topics like this .

(Wankel has my old car btw)

Wankel, you're in luck. One of my best buds has a 95 MX-6 V6 and you might be suprised to learn that that MX-6 was used as the baseline for tunning on your car . I can tell you EXACTLY how you car would fare against an MX-6 because we've done hundreds of runs back to back, switching cars etc.

You will wip a stock V6 MX-6 (5spd) 0-60mph easily. Once you actually learn how to drive the car, you'll pull an easy 1 car lengh of more in 1st and 2nd gear. 3rd gear will start out good, but then you'll find a damn flatspot right towards the top of 3rd gear. By the time you shift to 4th, the MX-6 will be right beside you and the 1/4 will be over. I you where to continue for a 1/2 mile, the MX-6 would smoke you.

So there you go... if you drive to car to its absolute limit, that's what you should expect .
