muffler question

muffler question
hi. i am new with rx7. i just got 1985. i have a question about muffler. currently on that car, it has straight so i live in new york, of course, it is illegal. I want to know if there is any way to find full exhaust muffler for that car from other model or made? let me know!

I cant really recommend any piston engine mufflers for the rotary,at least,not any stock ones.
If you cant locate a stock 1st gen RX-7 muffler here or on Ebay,then you could possibly fit up a stock 3rd gen muffler.....although it probably wouldnt be cheap and youll have to weld it up.The 3rd gens are single system cars,with the muffler on the right side.This should be as quiet as stock and might even be a bit of a performance gain,since the 3rd gen made some 150HP more than the 1st gen.
Either that,or a Racing Beat muffler.They fit like stock and are nearly as quiet.Theres no way you'd get a noise ticket with that muffler.They can also be expensive,but they last forever.....
