A turbo 13B into a 3" exhaust with 2 Magnaflows is loud. A non-turbo would be even louder. I'd stick with a 2 1/2", with 2 mufflers. Loud cars seem cool at first, but can get old quickly.

The car looks to be in excellent condition from the pics. For $500, I'd say you got a steal -- even if it doesn't run.
