muffler

I just intalled my new muffler and noise is unreal I have collected two two inch pipes into a 3" Magnaflow the body is 6" round and the length is 14".

If I change it to a 30" long body I know it will reduce the noise big time but I was wondering how much quieter it will be.

Also would it be benificial to collect in a 2.5 inlet instead if a 3" would that diffrence be significant.

Angry Same Here!

Same problem here.... Im also wodering what can be done to reduce or quiet the exhaust? I do not want to risk performance. I have an 84 GSL with stock engine/street ported, stock carb and racing beat header... however... I added a 2 1/2 inch pipe from the header to the muffler..... and that is when the noise increased.

Any ideas anyone?

Can I brace or cover the pipe ?..... will that reduce the noise...
