Now I have a 3 inch jump on both leading plugs and car still will not fire with msd.

Car will run with stock setup.

Please someone what the heck would cause this.

I have spark on all 4 wires. A 3 inch spark on leading.

Will not fire

ok so now I have a shitload of spark and no fuel. How does the ecu get the signal to send fuel? From a coil I will assume now. I would have figured the trailing. ??????

Anyone????

Not 100% sure on GSL-SE, but the 84-85 12A cars used the same wire to signal the fuel pump, as the tach. This went to the (-) side of the trailing coil. I think the SE is setup much the same way.

take the red ingnition on from the msd and use the old leading coil posotive wire for that.

As for the plug wires. make as short as possable and strip back the outer shield just like the instruction state and crimp with center bent over.

If the wire is made correct you can put a screwdriver in it and hold it about an inch off the shock tower bolt and you will see the spark jump.

Accell and msd wires have good instruction in there.

Still hoping that someone knows what color the wire is for the fuel system that should be on the trailing coil?

Yellow with a green stripe is the tach lead IIRC, at least on the old school stuff.

try the wiring diagram found here -> http://www.wankel.net/~krwright/cars/rx7/manuals.html

yeah my issue is that I have both coils with that wire. Primary ignitor has a red mark every inch but both wires are green and yellow. I am debating weather or not somewhere along the line someone mixed these up. that diagrams shows leading coil to the front bumper and others have it leading to the winshield.

I have finally fixed this and now have working direct fire. As is usually the case I bought someones re-wire nightmare. After a nice clean rewire I have a very smooth running 1st gen. I will post some pics soon.
