Msd help needed

Hay yall my friend tryed to install a msd into his Rex and it wouldnt fire the coil. They fiddled with it and she still wouldnt start. I went over to look at her and tried to see if I could make her start and I've had no luck. Now I've installed msds on the Fc and Sa I use to own and I'm having trouble with this. Everything is wired right and this was the same msd I installed on his '79 Corolla. The box is quite so I dont know if its on and the guy that help him knows a little bout hotroddin cars but not enough for me to call him a performance tuner install it felt it and said it was on. I should of check it myself but I was buzzed and didnt think of it. He is using a blaster coil with the msd. I think they wired it wrong the first time and fried the msd. The trailing still fires and it should work unless they fried the box. Any ideal on what it could be that yall could think of. I'm going to take the box and install it in my '92 Cabriolet to make sure it works. Let me know what yall think.

Just check the box while it is still installed
first off how do you have it installed with the white wire or the magnetic pickup then look at this
http://www.msdignition.com/1troub1.htm
that will determin if you fried the box or not.
it takes a couple ground outs to produce the spark so try it a couple times before saying the box is FUBAR.
