You can make it work with an FPR but you're honestly better off with a Holley or Mallory pump. Hows the old girl doing?

Yeah like I was sayin I was just curious cuz I got the pump for free. She's still runnin great actually and she's still a blast to drive! I've got all new steering components but haven't had a chance to put em on yet. I rebuilt the carb of my 83 parts car and put that on awhile ago but I'm probably gonna rebuild the 79 carb cuz I can't seem to get her to idle much bellow 1000 since I put th 83 on. I did recently have to replace the intake mani gasket cuz the coolant rings were leaking after this winter. The rad does leak (seems speratic for some reason) and the heater core is pretty much clogged so I'm gonna have to replace those soon. Also I started premixing because the omp seemed to be having a problem keeping up. I realized that when I couldn't get her to start and couldn't figure out why then someone said to try dumping a lil oil down the carb and she fired right up. Despite all of that she's been my daily driver since the day I left your house with her (with the exception of a few short instances) I'll have to post some pics of her as she sits now after I clean her up a lil.

Try it and see. I ran a Carter pump without a regulator for a few months with no adverse efects (6 psi). The Nikki has it's own method of limiting pressures, up to a point.

If you do try it, and find that you have too much pressure, then you just need a 20 dollar Holley fpr and you'll be golden.

That pump isn't the greatest, but I bet it'd probably work fine on a mostly stock engine if you get a Holley 1-4 PSI FPR.

Really? I was under the impression that it was an all original motor that was never rebuilt. Maybe that's why she always ran so good. Yeah the oil helps build compression after flooding. The OMP really doesn't inject much if any oil while cranking. Definitely need to see pictures of her. It's been so long since I've actually gotten to drive a 7 that I'm contemplating selling the Turbo II since I've had so many issues trying to get it to run, and get another FB.
