I know of a couple of people that use the removable plate style mufflers that are more common on bikes. I have a sport bike exhaust for my samurai it looks good I have no idea how it sounds yet though.

Except the fiberglass packing....which is why they offer additional packing material.

BBBBBBBOOOOOOORRRRRRRRLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAA

I am a supporter of them through thick and thin. They rule over all other mufflers.

While all of us do what we can to save money on our mods so we can have more cash for further mods, the following vid is what I picture a rotary exhaust note sounding like when using MC mufflers, which, btw, would most likely be too small in diameter. An MC muffler would more likely choke the exhaust than muffle it.

just spend the cash and buy the racing beat muffler. people will spend $100+ on mufflers..crappy mufflers at that. if they just waited the extra week or so it might take to save up the other $150, they could buy a nice RB muffler...

We have a pretty diverse tuner group here in ABQ (belive it or dont). Everybody kinda has there own "signiture". Theres a group of Japanese guys that all run 91 or so FWD carollas with CF slip-ons from various bikes. '

I was just thinkin about what I could do different with this car (!st gen). Headed to the local bike bone yard........ thanks for reminding me

Doesn't have that ringydingding sound, but it's close. Definitely not my choice for mufflers.

yeah, that's a friends car. posted that one back when there was alot of questions about how different exhausts sound. so i posted that one and mine with the rb streetport system. i was actually supprised that the bike mufflers weren't as loud as i thought it would be.

I just pulled my supertrapp apart and the first layer of packing, the one that wraps around the perforated pipe was hard and crispy. The rest of it was in suprisingly good shape. Soft and pliable.

Racing Beat...hands down. The Primaflow is always the top choice for a rotary muffler.

Depends on what you're looking for. I don't think I'll ever spend the ridiculous amount Racing Beat wants for their mufflers. Yeah, they're very quiet and sound okay, but they're too expensive and restrictive for me (chambered mufflers FTL).

And I agree with Trochoid. Those CBR mufflers don't sound too good.

For some more unusual exhaust setups, here's some sound clips of my old rotary GLC with two short Rotary Engineering glasspacks (as it turned out, one of them was dead) and a stock RX-4 presilencer. That system flowed very well, but it was a bit loud. If I had kept it I would've replaced the dead glasspack with a Borla.

And here's my friend's rotary Baja with two Racing Beat presilencers in parallel (it's a long-primary system) and a megaphone with some sort of an insert. Sounds incredible in person.
