Motor mounts

I've tried to search, but none of my apple devices work. They all freeze after page 1. I'm looking to replace my motor mounts. Once I take off bolts on both top and bottom, when I jack up the engine by the bell housing the whole car raises. What am I missing? The pucks spin freely, but no real separation. Stock 12a 5 speed. Thanks in advance.

Jack harder. lol

But seriously jack higher, and I'd advise using a block of wood on the jack and jacking from the bottom of the oil pan.

Sometimes it helps to take the whole cross portion off of the front of the motor and deal with it separately.

Thanks, hadn't even thought of that, I'll try that tomorrow. Also replacing the trans mount, so I will loosen those first.
