Motercycle looking muffler??? spec 7 guys help out.
Ok a couple of years ago my cousin got out of jail and wanted to go straight to the track and run so he found and bought a yellow 79 rx7 that was stripped and roll caged. I think the previous owner used it for autocross or club racing cause he had some panasports that stuck out a little....ANYWAYS to get to the point. for the exhuast he had a RB header and straight pipe exhuast until what seemed like a bike muffler, but I think it is really one of those tunable mufflers......Anyways to get to the real point.....this thing was ******* quite as hell for a straight through rotary. I mean It only had one of those low V8 rumbles at idle and even at WOT it still sounded low, kind of like a 4cyl with a just a catback, nice and mellow. I want to know if any has seen this setup before cause I really want to try and do it. Let me know

Yeah, Supertrapp makes mufflers for bikes, cars, whatever. Anyway they have plates you can put in to tune the muffler. I have one on one of my bikes

spec7 guys use those straight through mufflers to cut down on the db, since most tracks have db limits... they pose the least amount of exhaust restriction possible in order to keep the noise down.. but they are still usually fairly loud..
(or maybe i am thinking about a different type of muffler.. either way something is not right)

A guy I aotu-x with has a supertrapp, with like only 3 disks on it. one of the loudest rotarys Ihave ever heard.
But He throws like 6 disks on it for the street, makes it very manageble...

Some tracks we run with our GT1 car have a very low db limit. So we put super trap end pecies in our exhuast. And if you add plates the quieter the car, with less plates it's louder.
I went to a racing school last year and they required mufflers on rotaries, apparently the guy who was running it was racing and an RX-2 passed him and didn't have a muffler, the guy almost crashed and got a crazy headache.
