as you can see the vents themselves are not yet cut out, but the gleaming surfaces show you the shape of the hood, I think

nice, very nice. it's a pitty shipping them over to Europe would make them 100-150% more expensive, but still: good work!

looking really good, you definatly kept a subtle look to it, nothing too extreme that would distract from the car.

Is that one carbon or just black.

I would really like to see a carbon one on a car. And something of contrast, like red, white or silver.

I hope to have one of these when you are finished. Should match my Carbon fuel pressure guage cup on the cowl.

Actually the one in the pics is the "buck" or prototype. It's basically a hacked up stock hood...

Indeed the pics are of the buck, not an actual fibreglass hood produced by the mold. This is the one we make the mold from - hence no pics of the bottom or of it on the car. The underside of this one is nasty, with all the sculpting foam etc. we used to make the upper contours jutting below at weird angles.

After pulling a few hoods from the mold just to check our quality control, I'll be doing a run of 10 FRP hoods ($299 each uncut, or $329 with precut vents - all prices USD) After that prices may bump slightly if the US dollar continues to fall against the Canadian dollar. My margins are razor thin as it is.

How about everyone here chips in for a groupbuy. That way you sell quite a bit more, and everyone would be happy to get a discounted hood, right?

Just a though of course, beautiful hood. Trying to picture it on my car, can't wait to see one mounted up for a definite picture

maybe i missed it, but is the whole vent thing ahead of that point?

With the vents cut hows the water drainage? If it rains where does the water go?

rain = falls between fan and engine

larger alt will fit as thickness over alt is exactly the same as stock

Some strut bars may not fit as the 1/4 inch dip below stock goes down between fan and engine, where some strut towers have their main crossbar

groupbuys save money on items with otherwise fat profit margins. I'm selling these at close to what it cost me to make the buck, mold, materials for the hoods turned out, etc. amortized over the amount I know I can sell. Even after that, any profit margins are razor thin.
