i can only assume that more spark would improve the power of my 12a somewhat.... what are the various modifications i could do to get more spark on my 85 gsl?

thanks

DLIDFIS or a MSD box. There's a good writeup on how to make a DLIDFIS(Dual Leading Ignitor Direct Fire Ignition System) just search and I'm sure you'll find it. It uses 3 ignitors and 3 coils, and is a cheaper, effective alternative to a MSD box, but it also doesn't have a rev limiter like a MSD has. I think the MSD is about $300, and DLIDFIS will cost less than $100(if you find a cheap used ignitor, they are about $150-200 new).

The thing with the rev-limiter is, with only 1 msd box, only the leading plugs have the rev-limiter. The engine can still get past it running only on the trailing plugs, although it will be getting up there MUCH slower after it hits the limiter. It is a little extra security, but unless you run 2 msd boxes, one on leading, one on trailing, then you still can get past the limiter. It is a nice bit of extra security, but not something to completely rely on.
