more carb/no start/flooding

i feel really noobish posting this after the thread sterling posted the other day but.
I have searched, all i could find was this https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ngine+flooding

my car was running a couple weeks ago (ive been in denial) it ran for 2 days then just stoped, i havent been able to start it since. so today i decided ide try some of that stuff, but forgot my tools in my honda, at a friends house. so i pretty much just put starting fluid in it, it would just crank with the choke then if i pushed the choke in while cranking it would fire up then die, giving it gas didnt do anything. im just confused, ime gunna go buy some carb cleaner and see if that works, but after that im lost. its got the nest removed and everything capped off, im gunna go buy new caps and redo it.
when i first got the car started i had to adjust the idle mix screw, apparently a no-no?
so anyone, had a problem like this any idea how to get it runnig, i shouldnt have to run the carb too long, cause my uncle is rebuilding one of my carbs ( if he can figure out how to take it apart)

thanks for any help, and sorry for the long post

If that car starts up and then dies after you insert fuel in the carb (ie carb cleaner, starting fluid, anything flammable) perhaps you have a fuel delivery problem. Check for fuel volume and pressure before assuming that the carb in the culprit.
