Put at least half of it away, if not more. Honestly, if you want to invest it in a car, your looking at the wrong one, at least from an investment stand-point. Go on over to the 2nd gen FS section and look at the Turbo IIs over that that have stand-alone management, and 10k+ stuck into them. The guys selling are asking $6k or less, and can't even get an offer at that price. Thats a HELL OF A LOSS to take IMO. There is a lot you can do with $6k if your smart about it, don't just **** it away.
Your best bet is to set at least $3k aside in a savings account, or CD, or something to that effect that will get you some interest. Start looking around for something that you know is in demand, and that you can buy cheap/reasonable and sell for profit. Just think, investing it and spending it wisely rather than blowing it will only yield you more money in the long run most of the time. You can do a hell of a lot more with 8k or 10k, or more. Rule of thumb should always be to save at least 25%, but if you can save more, than do so. It will aways pay off in the future when you really need the money for something important/emergency.

LoL that is a very broad question..
First we must know the overall condition of the car.
if I had 6000
first handling
tokico shocks
eibach springs
racing beat sway bars
aftermarket strut bar
then power
t2 engine swap
or u can always keep your stock se engine and add intake
racing beat header/exhaust
e-fan
Second gen ignition upgrade
body
repaint if u decided to stay with stock engine.
now your pretty much broke depending on if you did the work or a shop did the work.

What do you want the car to do, is it for racing, daily driver, weekend cruising, drag racing....all of the above.....
After we know what you want to achieve we can answer the question.
P.S. You'll get more for your money if you just buy a car already built to do what you want by someone else for $6K

well for around 6k you can do a TII swap, with all the goodies to make it work. Also upgraded turbo, FMIC, 3" exhaust, Standalone, shoot for 400RWHP, at least thats my goal!
Either that or put 6000 down in one night at a casino, your sure to win!!!! (im joking....)

You can do what I did for about 6K... go with a bigger turbo for more horsepower though. I had mine built for autocross so I went with a small quicker spooling turbo.
