I ran 16psi non intercooled on a stock 135k mile 12a. No problems at all. Make sure you have it tuned decently before you start turning up the boost though. I turned mine up before I had the fuel pressure set right and ended up splitting 3 corner seals in half, and breaking 2 side seals. It still managed to have good compression so I didn't notice it until I took it apart to port it after running it at 12-16psi for 5k miles.

Yeah, they clear the hood no problem. The inlet is whatever size you want it.

If it's a stockport 12a, then start with the stock jets. I was still running the stock jets in mine, but it seemed to be rich on the low/mid and a bit lean up high.

The stock Nikki jets are .036 primary and .62 secondary.
With the mechanical conversion we find that the secondaries should be replaced with no bigger than an .060, while the primaries- depending on your driving needs- have anywhere from .053 to .058 installed.

I don't know yet about boosted application. It's something I could speculate on, but tossing a number is not tuning.
You have to be prepared to disassemble the carb top and play with different air jet and fuel jet combinations, and it takes a while.

That's the part too many of my customers don't seem to understand...We make our Nikkis completely tunable for this reason, but driving style, vehical wieght, transmission, porting, type of roads, altitude, temperature, filtration unit...and a few others, are all variables that can be compensated for by jet tuning.
There is no "one size fits all" approach...only a starting point.
And like I said, I do not yet have this information.

-Obviously the guys that do ain't sharing.

We'll be adding boost prepped Nikkis to our services list as soon as we know what to base-line jet them at.

As I understand it, you're getting the Boost Prepped Sterling Carb.
