mmmhahahaha~! very pleased with holley blue fuel pump

i juss installed my holley blue fuel pump. all this time i was driving around my gslse with a junk yard fuel pump!(i have a dellorto by the way) i only had around 2.5-3psi of fuel pressure. when i gas it in first the pressure would drop and run lean on 2nd and 3rd. now with my new fuel pump, i see the true power of dellorto!

i have it set on 4.5psi and no matter how much i smash my rex it still stays at 4.5. i had no floading problem like someone els seems to be having on this forum. i had every jet and ventury set the way racing beat recommended. so far i dusted my friend's h22 prelude with some modifications. i think i might be able to creep into the 14s now. it feels just as fast as my friends turboII but i have no turbo!! hahaaha. iv herd many people saying that theyr gslse went mid 14s 1/4mile with dellorto and racingbeat exhaust system. anyone out there who has this similar settup with different times?

Did you have the adjust part all the way out or do you run a gauge?

um...

the regulator that came with the pump came with one inlet and 2 outlets. one of the outlets went to the carb and on the other one i hooked up a small, cheap fuel pressure guage that i got from pepboys. at first i tried to regulate the pressure with my ignition switch on the on position. even with the regulator screwd all the way out it did not go below 6psi. i tried it with the engine running and i was able to regulated to 4.5psi. i did all this while looking at the guage i hooked up. ill shoot some pix of my engine bay and post them asap.

screwing out means less pressure and in means more pressure. juss like sex........hahaha..........

Good job; 4.5psi is the correct pressure for the RB Dells, I suspect those who run much lower have innacurate guages and only think they're running less.

And yeah, those Dells make First Gens fast!

Ya i was probably the one that had posted about the flooding. This was on my IDA though, since then i think i got the problem fixed, i think it was either an improper float adjustment or a stuck neadle and seat. Any ways i set my weber out to Air Cooled Research and had it rebuilt. I dont know if they do dells, but i would strongly recomend them for rebuilds for whoever has a weber. They called me once they got the carb and spend like a half hour on the phone with me long distance, they are ausome even thought they are VW guys. If any one wants more info on them i can relay that stuff. But ya i got my IDA back and it is seriously like brande new and tehy even test ran it on a real motor for me and tuned it befor they sent it back. They sand blasted the carb body for like new appearence etc. Absolutely beautyful... The blue pump are great even though they are loud.
What size of fuel line are you running? I ran -6 all the way up front from the tank. The AL line is cheap and easy to deal with and i would recomend for any one. you can bend and fit a whole new fuel system in like an afternoon. Call summit racing for the aluminum stuff its like 30 bux for 20 feet.
