Missing Distributor
I recently found a 1982 RX7, with 80k miles on it, in an Ohio scrap yard it appears to be in good condition but is the missing the distributor and the OEM carburetor. Other than those parts it's all there. The car appears to have been hit on the side and might have rolled over. What is the best option for missing the distributor? should I buy OEM or is there another way for ignition. I do not have a large budget but want to get it running.

Nice!! What part of Ohio are you from? As for the parts that are missing, I recommend buying them used. You can create a want to buy ad in the 1st generation classifieds section here on the forum. Are you buying the car to restore? Any pictures available to share?

I have looked through it and it appears that the oil filter is from 2011 so it has been there a little while ngk plugs were used but since the engine seems to have 80k miles I plan to do a rebuild most likely of the main seals. It appears to be taken care of before it was totaled. It also has all disc brakes so it is the upgraded package. The frame is also not salvage able so I want to buy a roller from around my area.

Slowly getting there...

So it's a totalled body, non-running parts car. Only buy it for the value of, .. whatever parts you want off it. If the motor has been open to the elements for many years (missing carb and dist.) assume the motor is garbage. You will be buying it for spare parts only.
