Missed her so much....i bought her back!
I have to share my story with with the people who can appricate my love for my car. A couple of years ago, i sold my Rx. I fell on hard times and she, unfortunatly, had to be sold. Every day i thought about her. I missed her so much, i recently started looking for another first gen. After a couple of days, i bumped into the guy i sold my old Rx to. So, i decided to offer him a nice price to buy it back. He accepted my offer, and now i have back the same Rx i had owned a couple of years back (see avatar). I've only had her back a couple of weeks now and i have already spent over $600 putting some well needed maintenance into her (plugs, wheel bearings, fuel filter, new K&N, ATF treatment oil change etc.) Two new additions include 12inch Grant GT steering wheel and a new Alpine stereo upgrade. Exhaust i had done a few years back. (straight pipe to a Redline high flow muffler) Still have the thermal reactor, but a hedder is on the way. I have also already done the mechanical secondaries upgrade. Many more upgrades will follow in the coming months!
Now that i have her back again, i will never let her go again!! I feel complete again! There was an emptiness inside me that could only be filled by a rotary!

the interior color is red. Oh yeah, forgot to mention i also have the tinted glass sunroof. i would have to say that the 84 GSL is my favorite first gen too. You still get 4 wheel disc, but a lighter diff than the GSL-SE. I also like messin' with carbs.

it does really hurt to sell such a beautiful car! i hope you can find your orignal car and buy it back too. If you didn't live so far away, i know of an 83 Targa with a for sale sign in the back window.

That's real good to hear. I was extremely close to selling my fc because of frustrations but instead of throwing her out I worked with her everyday for 3 months untill I got her running like new again, and now she is going under the knife for a 13b-rew swap coming february. Gonna be ready for track season

Well I love both of my 7's but being 41yo, 23yrs in the Army, injured, spinal cord stimulator implanted in me that has malfunctioned since it was put in, live in an Apt sice I got divorced and no place to work on my cars, and do not want to see them just sitting there not being driven, reason why i got the 84 that I am going to let southernrunner get. I gave my 35yo brother my 85 GLS-SE with a 13B with A 12" Camden Roots supercharger and the works. I had my first RX7 which was a GLS-SE in 1984, spent my whole enlistment bonus on it when I got to Germany in Feb 84, bought it from a Captain who was going back to the states with a Mercedes that he just bought. Had that car until 88 when I got married and had my first child. Sold it and bought my 88 Conquest which I still have and had enough to buy my wife her little Nissan Pulsar, Divorced her in 89 and remarried in 91 to second wife(ex 2), We bought a house with 19Acres so she could have horses so I put my Quest in Storage. In 91 had the chance to get the 85 with the supercharger from a friend who was in financial trouble, car was featured in Nov 90 Turbo Magazine, have copy of mag here with car featured in it. When I got injured and wife decided to leave me because of not being able to walk, I agreed to let her have house as long as I got to keep the RX7 and my 89 Starion that I had bought. So now here I am with a 88 Quest, 89 Starion, 75 Midget, 85 RX7 and the 84 RX7. MY Quest and Starion are auto so it is easier for me to drive. I just might buy the 79 Savanna with the RHD because it is auto. You are right once you get 7 in the blood it is hard to get it out,Gary
