i am getting a miss fire at about 5k rpm.dont know what it is.timing was just done.

If the timing was just adjusted, if I'm understanding your post correctly, maybe somebody goofed?

I've been duped by old spark plugs before. Do you have a way to bench test them?

 

check your cap and rotor, when setting my timing, i'd rev for full advance and let off throttle, the light would break up indicating miss on deceleration. my rotor and cap aren't in good shape. rotor is cracked and cap shows signs of arcing.
