Misplaced wires and whats wrong with my bumpers?
Found these wires tucked hiding between my battery and the fan shroud.
Question is what do they go to?
Next in line is my bumbers, are the shocks blown or are the bumpers warped, or is it something else that I haven't thought of yet?
The front seems to have a slight indent but I dont think that has anything to do with this unless it was some impact by a previous owner that blew the shocks.
That REspeed replacement set sure looks tempting.

Idk about ur bumper but i think those 2 wires go to a plug thats in the bottom left of stock radiators. I hounestly dont know what it does i looked it up one day because i switched to a aluminum radiator and didnt have a hole for the sensor and some1 was saying its a emissions thing something about opening a valve when the radiator temp gets to a certain spot or something like that. Either way mine had a broken wire and now it doesent have it period and is runnin perfectly fine so i dont thing it mattered that much.
And ur bumper doesent look like the shock is compressed (it would be in a few inches) maybe the outer skin isnt bolted up correctly or sagging?? ide pull the bumper and see if i can figure out why if i were u.

there are 2x 14mm bolts on the bottom side of the bumper, the 2 connectors for the parking lights and then i think 4 10mm bolts for the air dam/lower spoiler bit

How do you know its been repainted? I've heard alot of people argue over my paint in person, but it usually settles on original paint. As for the accident, I'll have to look into it but I think Texas heat is more likely, that and carfax is expensive.

carfax wasn't invented until the car was like 20 years old! its totally useless for a 1st gen.
the clips that hold the bumper on each side have a clear piece of tape on it, so the bumper rubs on the tape and not the paint. in the right hand side shot the tape is there but its been painted, the factory painted and then taped. the left side is missing the tape altogether, which might mean the fender was replaced, or they sanded the tape off.
if you add the bumper not fitting, someone probably hit something, which is totally normal. most Rx7's have been painted, either from the sun or accidents.

Another thing to check is that the foam strip that goes between the skin and the bar is in the correct location. It needs to fit into the indentation on the inside of the skin that lines up with the black molding strip on the outside. This foam strip is glued to the bar. If it is in the wrong location, it can warp the skin when it is clipped onto the bar.
If it has been repaired, the temptation for the repairer is to glue the foam into the indentation in the bar - this does not line up to the indentation in the skin.

I dont think its warpage, as the point of warp is only at one spot and its just off center. I still need to get that bumper reseated propperly before I can make a real judgement call though. Still waiting on my damn suspension components so I can make a full car day out of it.
