Minor Annoyances
I recently bought a 1982 RX-7 from a private owner, and for a 22 year old car, I think it's in very good condition...
But much of the rubber is starting to rot and crack. For example, the seals on the windows are pretty much shot, if your window is shut it still sounds like it's open...and there's a bit of a draft coming in because of it...lol
The rubber seals on the doors are going too, same problem as listed above.
I washed the car a few days ago, and checked for leakage...and sure enough, there were a few spots where the water had gotten in.
I'm not really sure where to go for 82 RX-7 door and window seals and ****...should I just be able to find some kind of seal and cut it to size?
Does anyone know of good websites that have minor replacement parts such as these?
Oh, and just to throw this in with the barrage of questions...I'm pretty sure the Apex Seals haven't been changed the entire life of the car so far...and it seems to run just fine, but I'm a little worried about them, what's the average life of factory Apex Seals?

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
FirstGen7, get the inner and outer window seals from VB.
Then, there's a shop on ebay that sells replacement door seals for about half of what VB wants for them. They're better quality than the OEM ones, BUT, it won't seal your door effectively unless your door is perfectly aligned. My passenger's door was fine but the driver's was off by about about 1/8-1/4", which is enough to make it noisy past 65 mph. The only way to really fix this alignment problem is to remove the fender and slide the door *forward* a little. Adjusting the striker will help a little but not fix it.
My solution was to buy some black, sticky-sided car-door weatherstripping from Lowes and apply it to the body of the car. It seems like a real tight fit at first, but it gets used to your door position over time.
No noise up to 80, which is as fast as I go.

Sweetege, it's got about 135,000 miles on it.
Hmm, that sounds like an interesting idea...should be pretty cheap too, Bouis.
