Mini-trucker at heart. Still love the rotary. How about the best of both worlds?

Okay, truth be told, I'm a mini-trucker at heart. I love trucks. My old truck was a mini-truck. And, I remember reading a cover truck at one time that had the rotary engine. So, if you'd like to take a peek of the influence of rotaries, take a gander at it 7 pictures down.

Looks right at home, doesn't it?

Well, welcome to the world of mini-truckers and truckers. And, you haven't seen anything "way over the top", trust me. You want over the top, pick up a Truckin' or MiniTruckin' magazine. Maybe that'll "perk your ears". Actually, more along the lines of "grabbing your attention".

Well, to each his own, really. In the world of (mini)trucks, sky's the limit with how you want it to look. I've been to a few truck shows, and there will always be some s***boxes and some wicked rides. It's all in the person's taste.

Ah, yes. Trucks and 7's unite! But seriously, in regards to the first truck, that paint job is something that can really be appreciated in person. Pictures don't do it justice. And, wild paint jobs is almost the norm on trucks. Some may not like it but that's their preference. And, their problem in my opinion. For they have been deprived.

I like the Dakota, by the way. It's a shame that you don't see to many of them out on the road. But, of course, that's because there's not much of an aftermarket segment for them.

Tell me about it i've fabricated everything except the K memeber. thats all...Narrowed the rear end 13" to fit the 22xbig on the back. etc etc....i'm pulling the 4.7 for a older Carb'd Mopar BB. and i'm going to just make it clean....nothing radical....maybe a 2-tone. No hood all polished engine bay mmmm. Right now the hood's suicided and i don't really like it that much. But this is all after i'm done with the 7 this winter/spring.

I've never heard of a suicide hood, unless you mean a reverse-tilt hood. I love those things. Makes working on the engine a heck of a lot easier. My old truck was a 1st Gen S-10. Don't get me wrong, I love those things, but it does get repetitive with all the 3rd Gen S-series out there. I think it's because not a lot of people do work for the interior and keep it all painted plastic.

Nice sub rack. Got eardrums? By the way, your PhotoShop work came out nice. Wish I could do that with my 7 sometimes. I think if I didn't have so much background, it'd work easier. 2 years, huh? Well, what true mini-trucker hasn't been through that?

I hear you. I spent my entire week of paid vacation upgrading my engine with a tubular exhaust, manifold, camshaft, larger bore throttle body (big mistake, don't put that and manifold together) cut-to-fit plug wires, new throttle body spacer....

Got so burnt out spending the entire week driving to and from auto parts stores renting tools. By the end of it, left a vacuum hose disconnected (fixed that problem, tho) and then still had timing problems. Turns out that larger bore throttle body on the aftermarket manifold was the problem. Too much fuel dumping. So, all that hassle, I had enough, sold my truck, got my 7. But, when I finally have the money, I'll get me another truck. Loved that thing. Tho, you seemed to have lasted longer than I have in getting burnt out.

a couple of my friends have lowered rangers, i always told them they should put a turbo 13b in the rangers..but of-course they went with 302's..i know people put 20 b's in bmw's and mustangs..but i wonder if any lowrider has a 20b?
that would be sick..plus the body would be so light!

That would be cool, yet I have learned that it's the whole "fuel delivery" process with the ECU in 20B's I believe. That and maybe a few others things. I remember reading a previous thread of how that was the deal and why most people just go with carbs on a 3-rotor. Plus, it costs a lot of money to do a 20B.

Truth be told, if I had the money, I'd do my best to invest in a 26B. Insane, I know, but one can always dream, right? *L*

look in the REPU part of this forum WWW.MAZDATRUCKIN.COM as there are several building these up in the 2Gen Mazda B-series trucks..
I have about almost 40K on mine sence I converted it to a Rotary...
BTW I am pretty sure mine will out haul any miny truck even with a ton of weight in the bed...

I built this truck as a shop truck till we bought a 96 F250 last year...

88 MAZDA B2200
Supercharged 13-B

Eng 87 Turbo 13-B
Camden 7inch
Holley 390
86-88 N\A RX7 transmission

Chassey ALL stock
Rearend stock 390 gears
miles on the chassy 196k
3 ton Air bags in the rear to haul weight

Body has never been repainted so it shows its age of use and it makes a g00d sleeper..

Not seeing any pictures and since I don't frequent that website, I can't navigate around it. Can't you just post up links to pictures?
