Mikuni Questions

There are 2 angled metal lines sticking out from the accelerator pump on the bottom of my 44pph. I'm pretty sure they're not for the fuel lines because there's two connectors for them on top. Any ideas?

Hmmm....no, the omp lines go to nipples underneath each barrel. The ones I'm talking about are inbetween them and angled downwards.

these are cooling tubes,

DO NOT PLUG THEM!!!!

DO NOT ROUTE OMP LINES TO THEM !!!

just leave them open vent.. and don't worry about them.

I think they are actually for the two vacuum advances that are on the side of the distributor. I ran hoses from the two tubes to the vacuum things and my car seems to be running smoother and gets a little bit better gas mileage.

Ok, so the carb warming coolant lines should be left alone?

And another question, the two inner ports on my intake manifold are a bit smaller than the ones on the engine. Would it be a good idea to port them out a bit?

you picture is correct please by all means, do not take rusty's advise on this matter.

I have the actually Mikuni parts to use a metering/throttle rod on the OMP, but what is the point. I have it, because I have never used it..

wire tie the ****** open!!! Or remove it all and go pre-mix.

If you have any additional Mikuni tuning questions, please feel free to hit me up.

Gotcha, so I removed the two lines. But I would like to know what's actually supposed to be hooked up to the tubes, because they obviously are meant to have something attached to them, whether or not it's necessary on an RX-7. Also, why wouldn't clean air just be taken from the filter? I'm not trying to challenge you or anything, it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

I too have wondered about the nipples and so I took mine apart and found they run to an empty chamber under the accelerator pump. My wag was that you could run your return fuel line that goes to the tank and use the fuel to cool the carb to maybe prevent vapor lock in high heat conditions, sounds kinda crazy now that i put it in print but who knows?? I just left mine open.
