how high is your idle?
i like to keep it around 1200-1500. seems to run smoother and keeps the oil pressure up.
not too good on gas though probably.

Idle should be at the normal 750/800, in drive, he has an auto. Couldn't seem to get it below 1000 for some reason, may have a small vac leak somewhere.

Stock accel and choke cables work fine, if you know how to hook them up.

Yeah, I'll be there, with cash too. As far as John's auto, I listened to him run around the block after the carb install. Shifting it manually, it sounded like a manual. Should have seen the smile on his face when he got back. It was about that big. I believe he has a manual swap in his future plans.

I don't know about that. I would LOVE to have the stick, but I really like the convenience of the auto for my DD. I do alot of long trips and it comes really in handy. Plus, I like the response when people find out it's a Auto. Nobody has seen one, its kinda cool, in a stupid way.

Ok i couldnt wait till morning i went out pulled all 3 cars facing my rx and turned on the head lights so i could check for leaks. It didnt start and I am getting about 6 psi thats to much right? I couldnt find my allen heads to adjust teh presure. We didnt find any leaks so that is always good. What psi should i run i was thinking closer to 4psi? Jon what psi are you running?

4.5 is a good base pressure to start with.

I am sitting at a modest 3psi at the moment. I do believe that this is a little low for my jetting, but does run decent. Mine was a bear to get started after the swap, we definately flooded it. It took some oil down the intake to get it running. Hope you like smoke.

6 PSI is definately too high. You need to get that down. 4 would be a good place to start.

You should have been in the shop last Sat, car was smoking anyway, then I poured 1/2 qt of atf down the carb. Suprised someone didn't call the fire dept. at 3a.

ok I ll try that. I think i might want to swap my fpr out bc i think its a 4-9 psi fpr. Its really hard to get it down to 4. When i had the dellorto i had it at about 5psi.

A quick search and I found 33 threads on Mikuni installs. Here is the link to my thread, I have an odd throttle linkage.

https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ght=mikuni+12a

Mikuni carbs are a sidedraft which are reknown for a difficult to remove stumble at around 2000 rpm.

Keep the fpr you have or buy a Mallory 4309, it's adjustable from near 0 to 12 psi. Pricey but worth the extra money. It's also a return style fpr. If you want to really dial in your pressure with accuracy, pick up one of ReSpeeds fuel pressure gauges.

Try Summit or Jegs, they both have the Mallory.
