Mikuni Carb Question....Help Please

Just picked up a Mikuni 44 setup. It didn't come with a fastener or clip that holds the Oil Metering Rod to it's linkage. The linkage on the carb just has hole thru it. Just wanted to know what could I use? Could I use a setup from a Weber 45? Any info would be great.

Well, I hate to say it but you might be stuck making your own. When I had my Weber, the linkage was available through a few sources, but it was like $40 for a piece of metal, a new rod, and a little clip or some crap. After talking to a few people and following their advice, I just made my own using a zip tie. I just wired the OMP wide open and forgot about it. Worked fine. The OMP was a mistake that didnt work anyway, so with it wide open all the time youre just going to get plenty of oil to everything and if anything, lengthen the life of the engine.

Talking linkage

I'll check my factory manual tonight and let you know what to use or hook you up with the mikuni parts supplier in Ca. rx7doctor

When I put my mikuni on this summer, I made a new rod for it from a 2nd gen omp rod. Just takes a little time to bend it up to fit. When I got it to the shape I needed, I drilled a tiny hole after the bend that fit though the lever on the throttle rod and used a small washer and cotter pin to hold it in place.

Start at the bottom, using the origional cotter pin hole and pinch, then work your way up.

Yapakanichi,

Looks like you had a purolator FPR in that pic, but see from your sig you swapped to a Holley ? So did I. My engine / carb/ pump / regulator/ clutch / flywheel setup is currently same as yours. Have you ever had dyno done ? Just curious...
