mikuni

Has anyone had good success with the mikuni 44 sidedraft setup. How did it work on a stockport? And, I am going to have a halfbridge done, will the same setup be good for that as well?? Anyone with firsthand experience please reply.

the carb works perfect on a stock ported engine (will do on street port aswell). I'm not sure about (half)bridge, you might need bigger needles etc.
I have the Mikuni sidedraught on a 12A (stock engine block) in combination with a RB exhaustsystem (SP). The car pulls strong, specially above 4000rpm.
My setup could use some fine-tuning though, but as I'm going TII later this year, I'm not going to bother anymore.

Thanks for the reply, anyone else?? How much difference would this setup make over stock?? Would be enough to satisfy me and postpone my half bridge until next year? My present motor is in great shape. Running a header, presilence and dual tip magnaflow for exhaust.

i like the mikuni. great top end. with the feeling that if you held it to the floor you would blow by 10k+ in a sec. esspecially w/ a lightweight flywheel, revs sick!!
some pics of the carb are on my website

I'm about to put a dual Mikuni setup on mine as soon as I get them rebuilt. Here it is: http://www.milisake.com/gallery/view...-7GSL&id=carb3

i dont see that working to well. unless your putting it on a 20b or PP 13b. mikuni could probley handle a street port 13b at most. you just asking for trouble with that setup. sorry

Carl.

EDIT: or a moster 13b w/ huge turbo

If you're talking about my twin setup, it was made for a 12a. It can be run on a stock engine though not very well at low RPMs. Their real potential is on a ported 12a. I've talked to a few people that have them working.
