might part out my baby

As some of you know a few weeks ago I posted about an electrical issue I was having. I don’t have time to work on the car with school and being an hour and a half away and my parents need it out of the garage. I paid 500 bucks for it and put about 200 bucks into it already just doing little things.

The inside is great and in perfect condition and its grey. The outside has little to no rust but paint is crap and it’s a light blue. The engine has 214k miles and the front main seal leaks a little but the motor is strong. When it did run for the two weeks I had it I never took it up to red line because I was babying it but I did take it up to 6500 or so and it was very smooth. I am going to assume the tranny is all original. I never had a single issue with the trans, every shift was smooth. This would be a great motor to do a rebuild on I think.

If I where to part this out not counting all the little **** like interior pieces how much can I get for it. Keep in mind my friend said he would buy it for 350 bucks in a few weeks. I bet I could talk my parents into letting me keep it there for a little bit and I would hate to part it out. I look at it this way if I can part it out and make at least the 500 bucks I paid for it that would be way better then selling it for 350 but I would also love to see my friend restore it and he said he would let me drive it sometimes-woot!!

Just thinking about parting it out makes me want to cry, but then I think how I would be helping out all the people on the forum.

GSL or GSL-SE? You could part it for triple what he is offering, but you will have to do alot of work packaging and shipping items.

Do you accept paypal? If so I need the steering column surround and the rear view mirror light cover and a charcoal canister bracket.

Post it up for sale before you start parting it out. You might get most of your money out of it. If you need help working on it, PM me, I'm in St. Joe. You also might try posting on the KCRX7Club forum too.

I'm in for the fenders and the carpet (front and back sections)

If it were driveable I'd come and get it.

If you do end up parting it out, I will buy the seats from you, and maybe the center console and dash. Mine are in good condition but kind of wavy on the passenger side.

Anyone know if the dash is the same in the 85 GSL and GSL-SE?

PM me if you do part it out, I will pay well

Yes they are.

An -SE is basically a GSL with a 13B EFI engine, and better brakes... there's a few other small changes, but not much...
