Might have a quick fix for my blown motor... need advice.

Well, as some of you may already know, i popped the 12a in my SA after a 1.5 hour cruise on the GSP at about 80mph, 3800rpm, it popped at idle once i pulled into town. Sucks... but life goes on.

Rather than wasting my time swapping in one of the three spare 12a's i have lying around ( condition unknown on all of them ) i think i might have found a solution.

I have the oppurtunity to pick up a complete reman s4 13b, for very, very cheap....

i already have a dellorto on the RB mani, so all i'd need there is the lower section for a 6 port 13b and the proper jetting for the 13b... all relatively cheap, yes?

then comes the question for the exhaust, i have the full RB single pipe system, so does modding the 12a header work? or should i try to find someone that's getting rid of their 13b header?

ignition, the s413b uses a CAS, and i have a distributor, now i'd ovbiously have to swap over my 12a front cover (and what else???) to make the motor bolt into my car. The question then is will my 12a dizzy bolt up to the son of a bitch?

thanks for reading, and if you can think of anything i might have overlooked, please let me know.

The dizzy will work just fine if you swap over to the 12a front cover. And for simplicity's sake, id just find a 13b header. I know the 12a one can be modded, but I wouldnt do it.

well, i had two more thoughts...

i need a gsl-se oil pan, and i need to get my oil cooler and lines from NJ (will a 12a cooler and lines work on the s4 13b?) I have the cooler and lines from a 79, i'd assume they would work.

i've read some places that just ovaling the bolt holes would work for the header, and some people say you actually have to cut the flange and make it longer.... if it were just ovaling the holes, then i'd do it in a heartbeat.... otherwise, i have the single pipe header, so there'll be no lenghening the flange.
