In the midst of an lsd swap....

I am doing an lsd/ drum to disc swap. I started pulling the lsd off of the other car yesterday, and its just about out, there is 2 bolts remaining, I got rained out. What should I be prepaired for today, when I begin the swap? I was told to taked the e break cable off from the leaver in the car, so I did (pain in the ***), what about break lines? Just wondering if there will be bumps in the road that I should know of. How much better is the lsd that the one wheel wonder?

Take the rubber brake hose that goes from the hard brake line to the rear end. You will need it as one end is a male fitting and the other is a female, I didn't grab that and had to order it, was like 2 days down time.

I tried to get that off, rusted on pretty good... Guess I'll cut the hard break line a little futher up and work it off out from under the car. Thanks for the advice. After your swap did you notice any difference? if you did a swap, LtED83?

Man make me feel bad, no I haven't got to drive her yet, the car that I did the swap on has been sitting forever, and I am trying to get things fixed/straighted out first, well that and I have to rebuild the motor thats going to go in her...

I haven't done a swap but I have driven both, the discs have a much firmer feel to them and the car tends to get a bunch more sideways. Odly enough, even though the tires are spinning it will out accelerate the open-diff because it'll put traction down, the open diff just drags one. In summary, there is no comparison, the LSD rear rocks!

Well I got the one wheel wonder diff out, just about, one bolt left. I just bashed my head while working under the car so I figured its time for a break... sucks having to do this as a one man job.... damn flakey friends...

the porportioning valve you mean? I think that should be swapped, I already did this at a later date. Apparently, the porportioning (sp?) valve gives a little more or less pressure to the back breaks on the two given models... just what I heard......

So let me get this straight, I have a crashed se at my place and I'm taking the brakes off for the swap. What exatly do I need as far as the ebrake cable. I was under the rear of the car yesterday. I don't know the proper terms so bare with me. I noticed that there is a little u shaped bracket with a pin in it and a cotter pin. Do I just need to pull the cotter pin and take the cables from this "jointed" section back? anyone have pics of what I need to grab?

You did not have to take te cable off of the lever in the car. All you need is the rear section on each side for the e-brake. It goes from the caliper through the frame rail and then clips off.

I realized the ebrake cable doesn't have to come all the way off, after I just about had it all the way off.... I have quite the vibration now, seems to be getting worse.... I wonder, will it ever end with this car? THe accelleration seems to have dropped too...seems slower...??
