Interesting... Less drive train losses so faster revving? I didn't expect that. Awesome

so, you change directly the whole thing? I did change the torsen and the ring and pinnion. Didn't pass my mind to get thw whole diff mounted.

It's just like putting on lighter wheels, or lighter flywheel, or lighter rotors in the back. You're not loosing as much energy trying to spin them, so you get more power going to the wheels.

Are you talking about the whole diff housing? If so no that is not what I did, I just changed the clutch diff to the torsen one. Still using the casing and ring and pinion from the stock first gen. Although I believe they said you could use the whole thing, but you just have to grind off one part to clear the watts link I believe it was.

Would be interesting to see the difference in weight between the two of those, don't expect too much though.

Well I finally had a chance to put the car through a bit of paces last night with the torsen in there. The only real difference on the street that I found, is that on tight turns (90 degrees), if I jam on the throttle hard (not squealing tires or anything like that) the car definitely hugs the turn better and make the car want to rotate quicker and not try and push the front as much. Whether I'll like this more on the track or not, I'm not sure yet, but I'll definitely post up how I like it on my next track day.

Well finally put it through its paces at the track and the results are interesting. On the straights I'm now getting about 10km/h quicker on both the straights, so instead of doing 150-155km/h, I'm now doing 160-165km/h. Could be related to lighter differential so I'm going through the gears quicker. Before I couldn't get out of top 3rd gear on this track, now I'll go into begining of fourth gear.

Also it behaves a little differently. It seems like it wants to break traction sooner but it just initially rotates the car more, didn't learn that till after the time attack. So i was still about the same speed as I was before because I was chickening out in the turns a bit now.
