Miata sleek headlamps on FB...eh (picture)

My headlamp assemblies are destroyed, i just literally ripped them out to get my fenders off when parting my car before deciding to keep it. Now i have no headlamps and have been seriously considering the sleek headlamps for miatas, $250. I had a look at a Miata in a picture with the headlamp off and decided the only way to achieve getting them on would be to cut upward in the hood and fiberglass over the hole for the flip-up lights. I thought "well, that might still not look so bad, i'll photoshop it". The results were worse than what i expected. I didn't feel like spending alot of time on it, but it gave me the idea. Maybe it'd look decent after i got the body work finished, Japco widebody, sideskirts and such. Any opinions?

I may be able to saw out my header panel and mount them to my bumper and front of the engine bay. I guess i'll buy them and figure something out from there.

I wouldn't do it if i didn't need headlamps. I would have improved lighting over factory, i figure i'll give it a shot they're not too expensive. I'll post real results and not photoshopped results since there have been posts and interest in the past about this topic.

if you are going to do it then add the lights closer to the bumper. They look way out of place above the line of the stock lights. instead fit them inside the light buckets and cut into the front valance.

Just do away with the bucket lights, and mount some crazy big *** JDM style round lights in your front valence.

I have a question that I've always wanted to ask before I got my FB. How the heck did you get the blitz bumper on there?

The problem is, the way the buckets are designed, they have to be back that far, the front of them clips to the top of the engine bay surround.

I'm kind of at a loss for what to do with headlights, i could buy factory headlamps again and reinstall the motors, but i don't see paying extra money for factory replacements. The way i see modifying a car is "if i break it, make it better". I guess i'll just have to buy them and see how it goes, i may come up with a way to drop them down.

I think the MTM kit can be made to look good on a 1st gen. I plan on going this way if I can ever get to building a street rod/toy for myself.
