Are you sure they are miata rims? Maybe the rims just look like the ones the miata has?

Bolt pattern is different. It was possibly Panasport rims

If you saw a 12a w/ miata rims then they must have the same bolt pattern. If so all you need to do it put them on and if they dont rub on anything your fine. You might want to check the offset of both to see how they differ, but since both are RWD vehicals with relativley small wheel base you should be fine. I had 3rd gen rx7 rims on an eagle talon and i just stuck a 1/4in spacer in the rear ones cuz they rubbed a little. After that no problems

HOWEVER, if the bolt pattern is DIFFERENT like one of the posts below indicates, your not going to get them too fit, it would mean replacing the hubs and good luck finding hubs that fit a 1g rx7 with a bolt pattern of a miata. I have no idea what either bolt patterns are. I do know the 1g's with the 13b (GSL-SE i thnk its called) have a different bolt pattern than the 1g 12a's models like a GS.

99.9999% sur ethat miata rims are 4*100mm (like the small 4 lug honda rims) They also have more offset than would probably work on a 12a.

I am running adapters/spacers on the front of my 84 gsl to convert the stock 4*110mm to honda 4*100mm. They are 1.25" thick and widen the front just enough to run honda offset rim. So if he was usng this method the miata rims would work, I even had a set of stock steely miata rims on my car for a little bit.

OEM Miata rims are 4x100mm, 45mm offset.

edit: to answer a previous poster, GSL-SE bolt pattern is 4x4.5" (4x114.3?mm).
