metering pump

metering pump

I replaced the metering pump for not pumping any oil. the new one is not pumping either. what should I check first.

the output of these pumps is very small, measured in cc/min at a given rpm. i've never seen these go bad/stop working. Foxed.ca - Mazda RX-7 Manuals

remove it and pre mix in your tank every fill up. only way to ensure you dont run your engine dry and seize up

How do you know for sure that its not working? The only way it can fail is if the drive gear or assembly in the front cover is bad or broken. I've never seen an OMP fail personally. For added peace of mind, premixing is a good idea at 1/2 oz per gallon. I would however leave the OMP in place as it only provides extra security.
