Question metallic saw sound when at 2-3k rpm....

im confused about this one...i might be thinkin its my cats....but im not sure, also anyone have any custom consoles in thier fb? my stereo got stolen and they ripped the whole console out...so i was etiher going to the original or maybe if i see somthing i like ill go custom. if anyone can help me, let me know...especially about the metal sound.

The saw sound is probably your cooling fan. When the clutch starts slipping, it allows the thing to spin too fast, with the RPMs of the car. If it sounds a little more like a tornado....then its definately your fan clutch.

Most of the people here in the forum just convert to an electric fan, and get rid of their stock fan. I believe that frees up around 5 horsepower, from what I have read. I am sure someone else will post how to complete the swap from stock fan to electric fan. Good luck.

I was overdrawing my alt when I first installed my electric fan. It made a horrible grinding noise once when I started it up. (not the starter, happened a few seconds after starting)

But never did it again
