Metal Line From Oil Pump to Oil Cooler Leak
Metal Line From Oil Pump to Oil Cooler Leak
Hi All,
As the title states I beleive that the metal line that goes from the oil pump to the oil cooler is leaking however it seems odd.
Here's how it appears:
I noticed the oil leak
I jacked it up...the area around the second bend in the pipe (sort of directly above the oil level sensor) was wet. The section of pipe from the oil cooler to this spot is dry. I cleaned it off took the car off the jack.
Waited...no drops.
Started it...no drops...revved it up...no drops.
Turned the car off...drops.
Wiped the drops away and no more drops.
It seems to be coming from the bend in the pipe I mentioned earlier but what is strange to me is that when running the oil is pressurized and logically should leak more right?
In terms of a solution is it possible to cut out that section of pipe and replace it with a rubber hose and clamps?
Thanks in advance for any input.
Brendan
