messed up idle in gsl-se

Sometimes when I pull to a stop light or my car is idleing it races between 1500 and 2000 rpm. This is when its warm so it should be down at 750rpm, like it normally is. It also sounds different than when I hold it at that rpm with the throttle. Has this ever happened to anyone?

Lightbulb Been there, done that

I've had this problem. Tracked it down to slightly stuck open butterfly's on the intake. Popped them out, too a little steel wool and WD40 on the pivot shafts as I reassembled.

No problem since.

Most common cure is TPS adjustment. If you have a factory manual or haynes, they show how to do it using the green test connector near the AFM

I found my TPS linkage was sticky. A squirt of oil, and some excercize of the linkage, and no more problem.
