incabin video of 7.90 second 166mph 1/4 mile

If you want a feel of what it's like driving a hot RX-7s, look at www.daltonautomotive.com. They have a great video giving you the incabin experience of a 7.90@166mph 1/4 mile. While it's not a gen1, the video is great fun.

I came across the ride when looking at what Aussies do to get performance from SA/FB street cars.

Rebuilt, Dowelled and Ported 13B Turbo Engine - 800hp : Includes Engine (Rebuilt with new seals, springs, rubbers etc and is fully turbo ported, full engine dowelling as used in our race engines), Modified oil galleries and relief valves etc. Sump and Timing cover conversion, Modified centre plate assembly (Tall Port) $4995

EDIT If you go to the top 10, and click on the individual car it gives you details and photo.

The prices are for the engine complete, but exclude installation labour, except for the drive-in drive-out package, and they are in AUS$, equal to .72 US$. Many just buy the engine and fit it themselves.

As people quickly find out, in real life the engine is only part of the total cost; add upgraded clutch, flywheel, exhaust, ecu, FMIC, etc, etc.

Thanks, it's great to see a Gen 1 take up the challenge. What powerplant are you using?

One of the ironies of the modern world is it takes ten times longer to download the file than actually make the run!
