Ok, I know that mazdatrix sells parts to RB or vice-versa or something like that. But I did find something that was interesting to me that I thought I would share. If you decide to go with the racing exhaust set-up, there is a difference in the 6th port actuation between the two companies. Madzatrix has the 6th port actuation fitting on the header, whereas RB has it on the pre-silencer. I was told from another member and from Mazdatrix employees that the Mazdatrix set-up is better. The air flow coming from the header allows more potential power and causes the ports to work at a different range. Just wanted to share what I was told. :-)

never heard that before, but i guess it's likely tests were conducted to support that.

 

Mazdatrix trold me that the RB aux port actuator tube didn't offer enough pressure to open them reliably. That's why they sell their own version (a header with a bung) and supposedly opens them sooner (at a slightly lower RPM), and without fail.

 

well this is half right and half wrong. the headers that mazdatrix has is the one for the early model second gens but bolt up to the s3 six port. racing beat sells that header for the second gen as the road race header mazdatrix doesnt differentiate between the headers the ones for the street port and the ones that are non street port. you have to ask for those from racing beat saying you have an s4 six port and it will come with that bung unless you ask them not to put one there at all like i did because i did a mod on my ports.
