MAzdaComp Brake ducts?

ok, on mazdacomp's website they list these...

KIT, BRAKE DUCT - GSL-SE 1 RX-7 GSL-SE 13B 1984-85

Notes: Long awaited cooling ducts for GSL-SE. 1 PAIR. Requires modification (cutting) of backing plate for fitment. Does not include 3" fresh air tubing.

Anyone have a clue what type of design those are? anyone use 'em? pictures?

Just being curious...

I have them on my racecar. They duct air off the front air dam and force it into the center of the rotor so it blows out through the vents in the rotor.

For street or autox use, they're overkill, but for road racing purposes, they're worth their weight in gold.

They better be worth their weight in gold, since that's about what they charge for em!

I plan on just modding the crap outta the stock backing plates to try and accomplish something similar for my street car...

Neat! I had an arguement once with a guy who thought you should duct air into the edges of the brake rotor to blow through to the centre and out again on the other side. He couldn't get his head around the arguement I was posing that vented brakes take heated air from the centre and fling it out to the sides for better cooling...

A brake rotor can have temperature differentials of up to 100 degrees F from centre to side, FCOL.
