I am looking at a 1978 so he says mazda rx7, there appears to be little body rust, and it has 98000 miles on it. Is there something I need to look at that commenly go bad on the rx7s' such as seals, or anything with the engine.

as the llama says (above post) the first year available was the 79, a few of them were actually made in late 78 but for the 79 model year. so either it is an import, most likely with right hand drive, or it is one of the very first made, or the guy doesn't even know what he is selling. I think you can find the month and date of manufacture someone on the body, but I couldn't tell you where that is. I never looked into mine that much

RX-7s were produced in '78 as a '79 model year.

if you can, take out the storage bins and look at the wheel wells, theyll start to rust out first. if itll run and drive without smoking, cant really complain about the engine, cant take it apart and look at the seals
