Mazda discontinued item....Now what??

I've got a 85 GSL.
I'm needing the intank fuel filter(fuel sock) and the gasket for the sending unit.
The only thing Anyone has for the gas tank is the gas tube gasket.

I found the sending unit gasket in Russia somewhere but 1)i don't speak Russian and 2) doubt they'd ship to the US.

Where can i find these things? Any other fuel socks fit on the end of the tube??? The gasket I think I can get away with using the old one. But the fuel sock it shot. It kinda broke and is packed with varnish and junk.

Someone please help!

Don't need the pump. I need the intank filter.
Mazdatrix doesn't have it, the dealer can't get it, the place where the dealer told me to go doesn't have it.....

Intank filter protects the pump. Mazda number GA97-42-113. It doesn't filter that small of particles. The one you change regularly, outside the tank, filters the finer particles protecting the carb/injectors.

Might have to get one from a junk yard.....which makes me nervous.

Cut a small length of fuel line to hook to the stock line that goes inside the fuel tank... Make that length of line go to the bottom of the tank.

Cut a small upside down "V" in the hose on four sides so that it can get fuel into it. (IE so it's not sucking on the bottom of the tank, but can get fuel on the bottom surface of the tank.)

Clamp it all together and close up the tank.

You will no longer be using the sock.

Put an inline filter right after the tank, right before the pump. Use a purolator or other clear filter so you can see the junk in it.

Inspect it regularly as it may gather large particles which at one point would have been stopped by the sock. If you see it getting nasty, replace it. (They're cheap and its quick.)

Problem solved.

Go to a junkyard and find an in-tank filter like the one pictured above. If you absolutely can't find one, PM me. As for the gasket, go to an auto parts store, buy some gasket material, and make one. Use either the cork and rubber stuff or the fiber/rubber. A good parts man at NAPA can guide you.
