Mazadatrix Rad

I just bought a mazadatrix replacement rad for my 81'. At the bottom there are two metal tubes coming out of the center, what are these for, If I don't connect them will coolent come shooting out. My current rad has everything else but that. Thanks

Could you use the auto trans cooler for an oil cooler if you have a manual?

I guess, although gear oil heating is not much of a problem anyway.

Heating the gear oil with those tubes would be a problem. Gear oil is also thicker than trans fluid.

I dont think that little part of the radiator used for transmission cooling would be enough for cooling the oil.

I have never seen a beehive oil cooler... are they really small?

anyway, I still dont think it would work, the fittings are really small. (compared to the ones on my 82 oil cooler)

you cant use that for man trans cooler because there is no pump on the man. trans to pump the fluid through the cooler. it would just sit there.

I didn't say anything about gear oil or using it for cooling the manual transmission. What I meant was, if you have a car with a manual transmission, can you use the cooler for engine oil.
