May have found 205/60-14 tire supply

Hey guys been a while. This may be a little premature but I am currently in communication with a Tire Rack rep about trying to get a manufacturer (non Chinese) to pump out a run of the elusive GSL-SE 205/60-14 tires. I also inquired about the Yokohamas that are currently available abroad. Point of the conversation was to give us an option other than the Chinese crap that is currently available. I will keep you guys posted. In the meantime if you could give me a sense of interest I would pass this along to him and possibly fuel the fire.

That would be great if your Tire Rack rep can accommodate the SE members of the group.

Please put my name down for a set of (4) Yokohama 205/60-14 tires.

thanx guys. i hadn't searched that site in a while since usually they only would show the toyo and hoosiers. i don't track/race my car so no need for the higher price performance tires.

He is looking into Yokohama and General. I told him anything reputable and NOT Chinese.

Can Tire Rack just request a supply of whatever is in demand?
I thought the main reason overseas tires can't be specially ordered was because they're not DOT certified.

Good questions, I don't know. I can ask when he gets back with me. I was told it could take a week or so for the manufacturer to get back with him on an answer so I will give it that and then call back to check status.

Before this gets out of hand and goes off topic, let's please stick to the initial posting request. I'm glad to help others but this thread is for SE owners looking for stock 205/60-14 replacement tires. I like a good discussion, but, I am really trying to get an idea of interest to be able to present to Tire Rack without having to go through pages of other topics. Thank you for understanding and no hard feelings.

Just spoke with Dakota at Tire Rack EXT 4380 and said he has heard nothing back from his rep as of today. Asked him to please pursue further and informed him of a possible interest of 4 sets requested thus far. Also asked about the Yokohamas and whether those sold abroad were DOT approved. Will keep you guys posted.

And I agree with the previous post, 195 x 14's work just fine.

For 195 R14:

I have Falken Azenis RT615K+ 195/60R14 86H on my 1983 Limited Edition.
