Master/Slave Cylinder installation?
Quick question, how hard is it to change those two parts? I've never done it before and was just curious, my 84 GSL-SE's clutch slave/master cylinders are done.

just flush the system of the old brake fluid. remove the slave and master clutch cylinder and replace them w/ the new ones.
then adjust the pedal and bleed the system.

It's easy. The master is two bolts which you have to get to from the pedal side. The hardes thing is to get to the bolts. Once the bolts are out, the master will just come off easy. It'll help to have two people during installation so that one can hold the master in place while the other bolts. The slave is easier. Two bolts up top of the transmission.

Follow the clutch line that comes off the master an it will lead you to the slave which is held down by 2 12mm bolts. To remove the master, you have to get on your back on the driveside floor, and look up above the clutch pedel, and there are 2 studs with 2 12mm bolts on them. This is what mounts the master to the fire wall, the top nut is a pain.

I just did this today. It's a pain, have long 12mm socket available. Are you replacing the hose too? The reman made it almost impossible to use the sockets because they put such long bolts on. So prepare for open wrenching excitement! Maybe recline the seat back and grab some heat packs for your back and a cold beer after you're done. Oh and don't forget the RTV.

a way to make changing the master easier is to remove the adjustment rod from the top of the clutch assembly. all you have to do is loosen the tightend nut and then screw it out. that makes removing and reinstalling the new master a breeze.
BE SURE NOT TO DAMAGE THE THREADS. i did and i wouldnt get the adjustment bar back in. i pulled one off a parts car and hard it in in a second.
