There is a series of 10mm headed bolts that secure window regulator to the interior door structure.

Note: the most forward bolt is for the front window channel, so do not touch that one.

The glass is fasten to the regulor by to white clips-phillips screws.

The door panel play no roll in the window regulator except for covering the holes and looks.

I pulled 3 window regulator off cars yesterday, I am very familar with the process.

How far are you into your repair? Is your door panel off the car completely?

door panel held on by:
4 large phillips screws, 1- 8mm head bolt and 1 small machine phillips screw, and later years had the phillips up by the panel pocket. The rest is held on by door panel clips.

does it have to be in the up, down or middle position to have that one section attached? is it 10mm bolts that holds that on too?

I connects to the inter door structure with the 10mm headed bolts.

That is the pivot point for the window to up and down correctly. See pic.

wow thank you very much. i would be window-less without you. did you like my drawing? haha.
i seriously wonder if i really needed a new regulator, or if those bolts weren't in correctly. oh well it was 13 bucks. thanks again john for the quick response!

ok i tend to answer my own questions if no one else can. so my driver's side window is going off the track right and i cant figure out why, (i feel dumb now b/c it was so easy) SO i strip my other door panels off and trouble shoot as to why one is working properly and one is not. the window was not between the two weatherstripping pieces on the track so i loosen the farthest bolt on the right side that holds the track in place, and i put the window between those 2 pieces and push the track all the way to the left so it holds the window in place and bolt it in. now she works great. thanks for your help though john. the diagram you did really helped.
