Man's worst enemy...rust..(and a few other things)
Alright...I've had this car for quite some time and I bought it for only $500 from a co-work and it runs just fine right now. Probably not at peak performance, I'm too broke to start fixing things right now.
Anyway...This guy had a bra on the nose end for who knows how long. When I bought the car for some reason I just never though about looking under it...I had figured he was smart enough to take it off while washing the car so moisture wouldn't get stuck in there...or at least take if off every once in a while to clean it and what not. I guess I should have gotten the clue that he didn't since the bra was in horrible condition.
Anyway...today I took it off kind of to see what the damages are. What do you guys think? Sand and prime time? Or should I just find a new panel and get it finished and painted and whatnot? The rust isn't soft. Underneath looks find. (looking up through the air damn) The paint is flaking all over the place on that panel. (As you can see from the pictures I've posted)
Anyway, here take a look....Luckily there is really no other rust problems with the car.
Also, since it's been getting warmer out...I've noticed my car makes a weard squeaking noise when in reverse. Not all the time. Just when I move in reverse. Once I let the clutch up and start moving back it makes a squeak squeak noise. Reminds me of the noise of styrofoam makes when rubbed. *cringes* I can't exactly point out where it's coming from, other than the obvious. (From under the car.)
I might record the noise one day and post it.
Anyway, that is all...thanks.

assuming the fronts of the fenders aren't like that (can't tell from the pic) you have a pretty easy fix. Take that header panel and toss it, find a better one in a junkyard and paint it. Its pretty easy to change. Oh yea and throw that nasty bra out, i hate those things.

So how much do you think it'd cost to get it painted the same color again? Assuming I find one in a junkyard, which I doubt since there are virtually no 7s here in northern IL.
The fenders are fine actually. Except for the driver side which my brother decided to fruck up by backing up into my car. (I had no insurance at the time on it, so I was screwed.)
