Manifold for 3 rotor swap
Manifold for 3 rotor swap
I'm getting a 3 rotor complete engine in January and trying to price this swap to see if it's worth it. I have 414 RWHP now @ 15psi and want to have the same power @9 psi with the 3 rotor. Where can i get a custom exhaust manifold with a T04 flange on it? What's the going price for one? If i decide not to use the engine. I will post it for sale here..
just so you kow there's a 3 rotor performance section in this forum, you might be able to get better answers from there.

I still need to PM you about a 48 dcoe if you have one that is/can be jetted for my 12A 1/2 bp. Even though the engine is coming out in a couple of months and probably going up for sale, I would still like to find it's real potential. I'm sure the 44 PHH isn't showing it.

Ya, i did. My friend and I went in his parents car. I was going to talk to you, but you had a few people looking around your car and talking to you so i thought i would later but never was able to. My friend and I were like the last ones from sevenstock. We were taking pics of all the cars leaving sevenstock. I said "gun it steve," but i don't know if you remember.
A few things to think about..
1) There's ALOT more left in your setup. At 15 PSI, my car was making 457whp.
2) Tune it up to 20+ PSI. You'll love it. More boost may not be much more HP, but it will have a shitload more torque.
3) Going 3 Rotor, very little of your current setup will be able to swap over.
It will be like starting from scratch, and adding 50% to the bill.
4) 20B intermediate (fat) plates are extremely rare right now. They are selling just that one plate for over $2K right now. Mazda stopped making them.
5) I have not seen any long term running 20B's. They all seem to "pop" when making decent horsepower. They don't like the high RPMs, and they don't like the twisting. Rebuild costs are astronomical.
All these things made me decide to build another 2-rotor for my car. I am building a half-bridge with ceramics. It should be good for 700rwhp when finished.
I am still keeping my current engine/setup. It's eventually going into an RX-8 for me.
I think you need to go for a ride in your car with the boost up before you decide to swap the whole thing out.

Can't wait for the new footage.. Who is going to make your new custom uim? Is it going to be like the 685 RWHP FD one you shot the video for.. That thing was sick..

Nice.. Real Nice... My other engine is another RE (Cosmo), but I am using New FD housings, and a totally different intake setup.
