Man This Sucks!!!!
Man i finally get my 84 SE running last night after sitting for over one month! and i was so exited!! i had to fix so many problem and on the way upgrated some things but now im not sure if i want to keep the car!
When i brought it it waz compleatly stock no modifications at all! and it was leaking oil from the oil cooler fitting neck, and it had a bent diff housing and a broken rear caliper. i got another diff housing and a new caliper for it and got it on the road and enjoyed it while it lasted then it started leaking even more oil and the rear disk and pads got messed up and i had to park it wich brings me to my upgrades while parked! i decided to strip the car remove the a/c air pump and all the junk on the engine bay that i did not need, after this i changed my clutch to a stage 3 6 puck clutch, put on a cone filter, put 10.3 mm wires on it did the dlidfis ignition change, dropped the car, got the oil cooler welded, ordered some angel light hedlights from ebay and finally got it running last night!! but one of the oil cooler lines wen removing my oil cooler i had to cut it so i went to summit racing bought some steel braided line and slapped it on with a couple of hose clamps over the fittings, but nobody told me how much pressure those lines had!! i drove it making sure to keep the oil pressure down, but i had to open it just to feel the difference!!!! wen i did this one of the clamps blew off and all my oil over the engine bay and the floar! i parked the car, (walmart) and had to leave it there! after all that work i can decide if to keep the car, i just ordered the steel braded lines from racing beat but i dont now if i want to keep the car! so just fix it and sell it or keep it, and i love my rx 7 but for me to spend all that money in to it and for it to do that to me i feel betrayed! :smiley_12
so some advice!
Thanks and sorry for the long story!

well after all that; you better learn to love your 7! Just change the oil line with the RB one you just bought and you should be good to go. No hose clamps on the oil lines. Have fun.

Some advice. Your car did not betray you. You betrayed your car by not doing your homework about the oil pressure hoses.
We all at some time or another get disappointed with our vehicles. We think, now what?
Remember this. The car is old. the previous owner may not have taken care of the vehicle properly. That means there will be maintenance and repairs. It is not a "NEW" car.
It's easy to focus on the "Negative" issues. Take these issues as an opportunity to learn. "Problems", as we call them instead should be, "Opportunities". These pitfalls give us the chance to grow and educate ourselves for future "Opportunities".

haha....
But I agree, there are a few things wrong with my car that I didn't find until after I bought it. That's what gives the car character; and as you fix these problems you, dare I say it, "bond" with your car.

My starter was dead when I bought my car, good times...
Why would lowering the seven kill the started? It seems like a weird pairing of cause and effect.
My seven isn't lowered, but when I bought my seven, the starter went (I bought it, went to pick it up, and the starter was dead... luckily the guy I bought it from agreed to pay for it.) So I'm curious what would cause starter issues.
