worse than that, the 15,000 is the STARTING bid, and his reserve price is even higher

that car IS beautiful.... for a white one... AND it IS almost mint.... but it's NOT worth $15000

I'd offer him $4500US, top bid

Oh, and the "been garaged for almost 14 years.... that always scares me when someone says a rotary has been garaged for more than 2 years.... did they ever start the engine up in that time span?

Frankly I think the guy is either a ****** idiot, or he's been dead for the entire life of the car, but DAMN that's a pristine 7!

He is not an idiot. Please revise your opinion if he sells it!

One minor item. did leather interior vehicles have velour seat inserts?

to be fair, my GSL-SE is rated in 'very fine' condition and appraised at $19,500...

Something is fishy about that. Why so high? It must be the Pamela factor. I'm sure your car is 'very fine" but seriousy.... there could be no other reason.

well, the fact that I have service records all the way back to the day the car left the showroom, and all drivetrain numbers still match on the car, really, really helps.

And with all the mods I still have the original parts that came off the car, plus both sunroofs with the factory vinyl bag, all the electrics work, the car came with the factory owners' and repair manual, there's zero rust (a west coast car for the past 17 years), not a single rip or scuff in the interior, factory floormats, new paint & clearcoat matching Mazda's factory black metallic, etc. etc.

The appraisal is in canuck bucks, but that's still about $14,000 USD

Well I think you'd be VERY hard-pressed to get $14,000 USD for it on the open market. Hmmm..... but.... you could wreck it and buy a small fleet of other 'very fine' 1st Gens with the proceeds.

The car might be worth that much to me if the odometer read 34 miles not 34,000 miles.

looks just like one i saw around here last week, except that one had 75k miles on it. and the guy was asking $5000! WTF!? not even a single mod on it. sheesh! maybe i should sell mine for $10000. i mean it's modded and everything! then i could buy 4 or 5 nice 1st gens and do it all over! yay! who needs a day job when you can rip people off on 1st gens all the time?

Cars never realistically sell for their appraised value. The seller usually ends up getting half of the appraised value for the car, unless it at the Barrett-Jackson auction.
